The
Art Workshop

by The Art Workshop, an award-winning comprehensive fine-art program,
each session focuses on the fundamental skills of drawing, painting
and sculpture through age appropriate instruction in multiple
mediums. The program stresses the concepts of fine art and

Kids for saving the earth (KSE)
We
believe that teaching our children the importance of good stewardship
of our planet is invaluable. We offer after-school events to teach
students various forms of recycling with the main message of Reduce,
Recycle, Reuse. We reinforce this message with classroom
presentations, an interactive butterfly garden, by organically
recycling in the cafeteria, and by hosting a Clean Hedgcoxe
event—where our families help to clean the school grounds and
surrounding areas. Contact Debbie Laude at
469-752-1781 or Deborah.Laude
@ PISD.edu for more information.
Recycle Program
This
program helps send the message of recycling home with the students.
Through education and promotional events, we share the message of
recycling with our students and encourage them to implement these
practices at home. Through our efforts, and the support of our
Hedgcoxe families, we were able to increase our volume of residential
recycling last year by 10%. Last year, this program helped our
community and raised $1000 for Hedgcoxe! Contact

SAGE—Special
and Gifted Education
If
you love a child who participates in special education, the gifted
and talented programs, or struggles with learning
differences,
here is your chance to join together with other Hedgcoxe families to
share resources and build friendships. Plans for this school year
include the creation of Hedgcoxe support groups for different
learning differences such as ADHD, PACE, autism, dyslexia, and more.
It’s a fact: Happy children with high self-esteem learn
better!
The
SAGE Committee:
- Ensures inclusion of special and gifted children in
all PTA-sponsored activities
- Serves as a resource for the PTA Board
- Greets and reaches out to new families of special
and gifted children
- Advocates for diverse learners
